Ooo I've never seen a green woodpecker in the flesh.  What a beautiful bird and a great photo - thank you.

We have lots of greens down here, and some spotted ones.  They never keep still long enough to photograph though, so well done !  I love the sound they make, even when you can't see them it's nice to know they are there.

We have a greater spotted woodpecker who visits our bird feeder just outside our patio door. We get a great close up view.  I'll try and find a photo, albeit taken at my usual standard of photography.

Good photo.  We have all three and find the Green is shyest and Lesser Spotted boldest.  Most nest in a hole well up a tall tree trunk - the youngsters make a hell of a racket calling for food.
