I first registered for the forum almost two years ago when we first had a chance on our smallholding Rhyd y Ffos, we are now 18 months and an extra member of the family in to this life and it seems like a good time to get around to saying hello properly :)

Rhyd y Ffos is about 12 acres of mostly permanent pasture and a couple of small wooded areas plus some common grazing rights on rough moorland and a few fruit trees. Garden in planning.

We are taking the time to get to know our patch and so far have mainly just cleared, tidied and made hay. We have a few chickens and winter store sheep at the moment. Next jobs on the list are thinning a wooded area, sorting out the access track  and preparing for a couple of pet pigs (nominally contributing by helping to clear the undergrowth in one of the woods  ;) )  We do also take on some tree work, forestry, engineering and small-scale contracting work in the area.

Very pleased to meet you all :)

Rebecca (best half), Mark (me), Arianwen (shouty toddling offspring), Evie (hardworking and tolerant spaniel) Stretchy (hardworking cat) and Kira (lazy cat).

Can't seem to post pictures up, will have a crack at that another day.

Turns out I can. We can't take credit for those pumpkins and if you are wondering about the very sparse hay behind us - that was the week after we moved in... We did a bit better summer '22 :)
