« on: September 25, 2013, 12:11:58 pm »
As in a previous post my ram become unwell so I sent them in with the neighbours ram which is an Oxford down I just want abit off info on what I should expect from lambing and the lambs? Big lambs? Hard delivery? Fast growth? My girls are mainly zwarble X texel and a few smaller ewes? I know the Hampshire down is more popular now

We use a Southdown (shorter legs than an HD but similar conformation) on our Badger face every other year. Only ever had to pull one in ten years.  More likely to get lambing problems from the Texel  bit of the equation?  Our Xbred lambs are robust, have some wool on the legs but none on the face and grow away very well.
