Small update folks went to view a flock today from the one and only breeder in the north of Ireland but was quoted mad money  :raining: I've fallen in love with them but 500 a piece seems a lot of coin

That's a lot of money,  too much unless they've won a lot. You could pick up four good examples for that price with some haggling from a decent breeder.

Chrissykelly482 - how are the Ryelands working out?  I'm in NI too and have been reading up on the breed.  Seem to be quite rare over here.  Would be interested to hear how they are working out for you - and whether you may have some available at some time?

sorry to jump on the post
whats a good average price to pay for a good coloured pedigree ryalnd lamb/ewe/ram
i know it can range depending on bloodline etc
i am just researching for the future
many thanks
I charge the upset prices for my breeding quality pedigree Southdown lambs, which is currently £90 + cost of registration if required.  Does the Ryeland breed society have a similar scheme?  If I were into showing it would probably be considerably more but I breed for a good all round animal so appearance is last on the list.
