Goat show photos wanted pls
« on: August 14, 2012, 12:43:34 pm »
We're looking for a few photos related to showing goats and the preparation of goats for showing. They will appear in a beginner's guide to showing goats, which will feature on the SS&GF website (and on TAS later in the year).

We'll give a full credit, including a link to your website if required.

Please PM me if you can help, thanks. :fc: :goat:

Hi Dan,
I can get hold of most goat breeds photographs, is there any particular breed that you are after.
I also have given several talks on goat husbandry, management and showing, if I can help in anyway let me know.

Hi Dan - as I do most things myself I don't have too many pictures of show preparation - although TBPH for me it mostly involves a good brush and I'm not sure that warants a picture - I don't bath my goats - if you could see them run from a spec of rain you'd realise why. I like to make sure they are in tip top condition as they should be all year round, a good brush, trimmed hoofs, clean bum, used to a lead/collar if time allows and will stand well and walk beside me - a little bit of dancing is quite normal for my goats!! Have some at show pics if you'd like them. Also I find it's me that needs the check list on show day - always seem to forget something
Pygmy Goats, Shetland Sheep, Zip & Indie the Border Collies, BeeBee the cat and a wreak of a building to renovate!!

I have some pictures of the girls showing goats if that's any help? One of Milli grooming Puffin ready to go in the ring, one of them in their white coats, one of Eloise with a red rosette and goat *(trying to eat the thing...).

Smallholding in Worcestershire, making goats milk soap for www.itsbaaathtime.com and mum to 4 girls,  goats, sheep, chickens, dog, cat and garden snails...

Dan, I think I have some video footage that might be useful. Have a video of me washing a milker, and also footage from shows as well. Can send on tonight.
