2013 location
« on: February 22, 2013, 02:38:22 pm »
Aftermnoon one and all.
Was just looking at the
http://www.scottishsmallholdershow.co.uk/travel-accommodation/
in order that Herself and I can plan a weekend away in September :excited:
Went to find the Lanark Agri centre and Google Maps does not recognise the address you have for it.
Google has it on Hyndford Road,
http://www.scottishsmallholdershow.co.uk/travel-accommodation/
has it on Hyndland Road.

Wife loves going to Glasgow. I am sure we can combine it with a long weekend there and she will be very happy....me too   Hope to see y'all there?!

Just to clarify - it's Hyndford Road (Dan will change the website asap  :eyelashes:), but there will be signage to get you to the right place on the day  ;)

Don't go booking accomodation just yet though, I'm working on negotiating group discounts at local hotels for festival visitors - details will go on here and on the festival website as soon as I've got it confirmed.
I've also got a wee idea for 'entertainment' the night before for anyone staying in the area (still in the thought process) but full updates as and when  ;)

:excited: :excited: :excited: It's only 7 months away now, be here before you know it  :excited: :excited: :excited:

Morning HH,

Any update on the accommodation possibilities?
Wife has started having a look around that area to see what's available (we will make a wee holiday of it and arrive Frday and stay in the area until Monday).

Hiya SS

The Lint Mill has one B&B room available - pm them on here  ;)

The Scottish Equestrian Hotel is right across the road from the market, their rooms are very reasonably priced already so can't discount further  :( However they've said they'll give a 10% discount on all food ordered in their bistro to festival goers
Website is here http://www.scottishequestrianhotel.com/

There is also a large hotel and self catering bunkhouses in New Lanark (5 mins from the market) but when I enquired they said they had no availability  ??? Their website is here if you want to check it out http://newlanarkhotel.co.uk/

The Cartland Bridge Hotel is lovely (but no discounts  :-\) and it's close - about 10 minutes from the market.

The Popinjay Hotel is also good, and around 15 minutes from the market http://www.popinjayhotel.com/, or slightly further away (30 minutes) is the Shawlands Park Hotel http://www.shawlandsparkhotel.co.uk/.

There will be more, I've just not had much of a chance to check them out yet  ;)

We're about 45 minutes from the L & S Mart and my next door neighbour has a B & B, as has Sandy.

Thanks HH,

Have sent details to Herself so she can check them out (I PM'd Lint Mill also).

I'll start a new thread on accommodation shortly then, if anyone finds any good deals they can let us all know:-)

Thanks HH,

Just to let you know we are now "booked up" for the mill:-) Super looking mini-hols for me & Herself.

For anyone else looking at the moment the Innkeepers lodge, about 30 mins up the road, is currently available for around 108 GBP total for the three nights for 2 people sharing including brekkie!! Wife found that via Booking.com
