Public liability insurance

Hi everyone ,
I’m hoping for some advice…
I have a small flock of sheep , soon to be 9 on 4 acres of rented land . No buildings , equipment etc . I need to sort out some public liability insurance to cover the sheep escaping, causing any damage and. For taking them to the odd show.
I’m finding that  insurers only offer smallholders insurance which covers more than what I need but offer the pl insurance as part of this .
I’ve tried most of the insurers that come up on google and the quotes for 5million pl vary from 300-600 .

Has anyone managed to secure just pl insurance or will I need to take out smallholders insurance ?

Any advice greatly appreciated . 😊

Why do you need 5 million public liability?  Is that amount in a grazing agreement?  1 million is more than adequate, and without smallholder insurance you are not covered for lots of things.

Bengers is £225 per year fpr their "silver" package - https://www.bengers.co.uk/ - they resell farmsure http://www.farmsure.co.uk/policy/smallholders/

I rather fear that 1 million might not be more than adequate if, for example a couple of sheep escaped and ran across a motorway or major road and caused a pile up and multiple deaths.

Thank you, I will give them a try . Most shows stipulate that you have cover in place of at least 5 million to attend .

I suppose it might be, it's a question of how you judge risk and your particular circumstances.

They do a "Farm Combined" policy offering higher or particular cover.

Thanks.
