Hello, I noticed our sheep limping since Monday, not putting her hind legs down much. We trimmed her long hoofs, sprayed her with green spray and noticed a slight crack on the front of her hoof. She is still eating but has difficulty moving and sometimes separates from the herd. The yard is not flooded but it has been raining. Has anyone else had similar symptoms? Should I call the vet? Thanks.

If it's a big split and putting weight on it makes it worse, I have put a block under the non injured cleat and "vet wrapped" it, for a week or so, untill the hoof can grow  / mend

Quite often happens in wet weather. A dose of pain relief and antibiotic normally sorts it. If it’s half hanging off I’d trim the flap just so they don’t catch it on every step. [size=78%] [/size]

Alamycin LA   and metacam  ....  antibiotic and pain killer should do the trick
