 Old topic but an update. :excited: :excited: :excited:

Three weeks ago I saw a barn owl in the garden, and watched it 3 evenings in a row and it flew INTO THE BARN.   ;D ;D
Last night we were moving sheep in there and a terrible racket was coming from one of the barn owl nest boxes ??? .
I've been down there quietly tonight and it really does sound like 'snoring'.
Now  :fc: :fc: for a happy ending.  I feel like a 6 year old.

Snoring owls definitely sounds like the barn owls have decided to favour you with their custom as tenants !!! Congratulations!!!  :trophy: Would like some here! Only have townies at the mo (tho they are nice too)

How are they doing? Im seriously jealous, I havnt seen a barn owl in a long time. The way they fly silently is incredible, and they have made me jump a few times, by flying low overhead whilst I quietly fish into the gloaming  :o

Several evenings spent sitting in the barn about 35ft from their nest box, tucked behind the pallet 'wall'.  Madam may come out briefly, have a little leg stretch and a preen :eyelashes: .  Then himself comes swooping in with a present for her :bouquet: , lots of swawking in the box - and then he is off again.  Swooping around the barn, perching high up in the top, and then off out for more hunting.  It is blissful ;D ;D seeing them.  So hopefully the shriek of owlets in about a month :fc: :fc: .

Mrs Owl is still sitting tight.  Just comes out for a leg-stretch and shake just before dark each evening.  :fc:
