You know it's not going to be good when a stranger knocks on your door and asks "Are those your pigs?"
Especially when it's followed by "one of them is running along the beach".
Oh dear  ::)

Yep, he had a whale of a time! Easily lead back home with food thank goodness. Think I have found the gap under the fence that allowed him to escape. It is amazing just how small a space they can wriggle through when they want to.
Shygirl - we live on the banks of the Tay. The beach is just 3 metres from the front of our house. It is estuarine though so by no means a sandy beach. Just mud and stones. That is a good thing though otherwise we would have every man and his dog set up their deck chairs outside our front door, especially as we are on a very popular right of way. It is also fantastic for wildlife! A stormy spring tide can be a bit scary........

We had a similar thing with a litter of saddlebacks. On that ocassion the bearer of news said, "Your Jack Russels are running down the road."

This did initiate a good giggle here we had three boars for only a few weeks as a transition to slaughter and all three got out when i was unable to go anywhere as the toddler was sleeping and i was rather pregnant!!! we found one in a road the other side of our village one trying to get into the post office and the other happily eating our neighbour's pretty flowers!!! that was a while ago when we had a bigger garden than now!
